Description of the project content:
The EQUIEDU project is based on a long tradition of horse breeding and equestrian sports in Croatia and Hungary, dating back to the Austro-Hungarian times. The number of people working with horses in the EU is steadily increasing, and in developed European countries such as Austria and Germany there are appropriate educational and vocational training programmes enabling students and adult participants to obtain qualifications in working with horses, professional equestrian sports or in providing rural tourism services (organising horseback riding, etc.). The project will focus on the development of training content for students and adult participants who currently lack opportunities to develop their competences in the field of horse breeding and equestrian sports. For this reason, the preparation of the technical project documentation for the construction of riding stables, indoor halls, horse stables and ancillary facilities as part of the project will create the preconditions for the establishment of a regional centre for equine breeding and equestrian sports. As part of the project, the College and the Szent István University of Kaposvár will develop training and lifelong learning programmes in the field of equine breeding and equestrian sports with key stakeholders through a series of workshops. The College will also renovate existing horse breeding facilities. As a result of the project, appropriate programmes will be available (the College will develop five programmes for students and four lifelong learning programmes in the field of horse breeding and equestrian sports in a joint project with the University of St. Stephen), both in higher education and in lifelong learning in the field of horse breeding and keeping, which will be made available to participants interested in equestrian sports or rural tourism development or services with equestrian and related content in the coming period. The project will be implemented over 20 months in Kaposvár and Križevci.
