HOP-ON opportunities
This call is open to projects that have been awarded a Horizon Europe grant and do not already have a partner from a Widening country with a lower innovation performance in the consortium.
This call gives the opportunity to expand the consortium with an additional participant from a Widening country. The application will be submitted to the European Commission by the project coordinator.

Who can apply?
Applications must be submitted by the coordinator of a consortium funded under Horizon Europe Pillar 2 or under the EIC Pathfander action with a valid grant agreement and without participants from a Widening country. The application must include the accession of an additional partner from a Widening country. The action will be part of an existing project with a valid grant agreement. Proposals must demonstrate the RDI added value of the work carried out by the new partner and present a visible and distinguishable work package for the joining partner. The application must include a detailed description of the profile of the new partner and its role in the existing project. The new partner and its role should be presented in a change tracking document based on the work plan of the ongoing action. Selected consortia will be invited to submit a modification request to add a new partner, modify the project description and update the budget. All consortium members must agree to the inclusion of a new partner. The new partner and its role must be indicated on a separate dedicated form (accompanied by the description of the original proposal)
The increased budget should therefore be allocated to the new partner. Additional coordination costs may be allocated to the coordinator up to 10% of the increased budget.
Expected outcomes:
- At institutional level, it contributes to mobilising excellence, increasing the visibility of institutions in the widening countries, increasing knowledge flows and the participation of widening countries in the various thematic programmes
- Opening up closed consortia at organisational level, increasing research excellence in Widening countries, helping access to new talent
- At personal level, it contributes to the acquisition of new competences and skills (research management, dissemination, marketisation, etc.)
